The 300x adds colour temperature control to the 300d formula. That matters when you are matching mixed sources - tungsten practicals, warm walls, or late daylight through a window - without burning through gels.
It is the safer choice when the shoot moves between setups with different ambient colour, and the more flexible key when the client wants both warm and cool looks in one day.
